The Ho-Chunk Nation of
Wisconsin is in a holding pattern for its off-reservation casino.
The tribe submitted its land-into-trust application for casino in Beloit to the Bureau of Indian Affairs a couple of months ago.
It could take years for a decision.
"It could be shorter. It could be longer," Collin Price, a spokesperson for the tribe, told WIFR-TV.
The tribe is proceeding under the two-part determination section of the Indian
Gaming Regulatory Act.
The state governor will get veto authority over the casino.
