Competition is heating up for a commercial casino in western Massachusetts.
The Mohegan Tribe of
Connecticut is still putting together plans for a casino in Palmer.
MGM Resorts International, the Las Vegas giant, is also jumping in the game with an $800 million facility in downtown Springfield.
Then there's Hard Rock International, owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
Details have yet to surface about the bid, also in western Massachusetts.
MGM is a partner with Mashantucket
Pequot Tribal Nation but the tribe isn't involved in the Massachusetts project.
