The Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake
Superior Chippewa Indians might revive plans for an off-reservation casino in Wisconsin.
The tribe is voting September 4 to determine support for the project. A referendum in Shullsburg could be held this November or in spring 2013.
The Bush administration rejected the casino in January 2008 under a guidance memo that said Shullsburg was too far from the reservation to benefit tribal members.
Shullsburg is about 300 miles from tribal headquarters.
