The Sokaogon Chippewa Community has failed to reach an agreement for an off-reservation casino in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
The tribe faced a deadline to enter into a deal with the city and the owners of the Blue Harbor Resort.
But the project has stalled for now.
"We’d certainly like to keep gaming as a long-term option,” project spokesperson Josh Morby told The Sheboygan Press. “But the reality of it is that the process is not happening as quickly as many people expected it to happen.”
The tribe's headquarters are about 165 miles from the Blue Harbor Resort
