The clock is ticking on the casino owned by the United Keetoowah Band
of Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma.
As part of a settlement with the state, the tribe agreed to close the Keetoowah Cherokee
Casino on July 30 if the land at the site isn't placed in trust.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs hasn't made a decision but one top official remains confident.
“We have every indication the land will be placed into trust within the deadline," attorney general Ken Bellmard told The Tahlequah Daily Press.
If the casino closes, about 150 people will be out of work, the paper said.
