A casino isn't coming to the campus of the Santa Fe Indian School in New Mexico, the board of trustees said.
The school campus is held in trust for the All Indian Pueblo Council. But Public Law 106-568 includes a strict gaming prohibition.
H.R.1556,
which passed the House last month, amends the law to allow the campus to be used for "economic development projects."
The bill, however, does not modify the gaming prohibition.
The school has already razed some buildings in preparation for new uses of the campus.
