Seminole Tribe asks casino employees to contribute to state PAC

The Seminole Tribe of Florida has started a political action committee to protect its gaming rights.

The tribe's Class III gaming compact promises five years of regional exclusivity. But with the ink barely dry on the compact, lawmakers began considering plans to authorize more non-Indian gaming in the state.

“As you know this issue died in the last legislative session,” Seminole Gaming CEO Jim Allen wrote in a memo to gaming employees, The Miami Herald reported. “But I can assure you it is not over.”

The memo says employees have the option of contributing to the PAC, which was created under state law, through a deduction in their paychecks.
