The city council in Barstow, California, will consider a resolution to support an off-reservation casino for the Los Coyotes
Band of Cahuilla and Cupeno Indians.
After being rejected by the Bush administration, the tribe resubmitted a land-into-trust application for 23 acres in Barstow.
The site is more than 100 miles from the reservation
The Bureau of Indian Affairs
is working on a environmental impact
statement for the project.
