The Quapaw Tribe of
Oklahoma plans to open a new hotel tower at its casino by December, The Joplin Globe reports.
The tribe secured $41.6 million in financing for the project.
The paper said the total cost of the new 152-room tower at
Downstream Resort Casino will be $50 million.
“We’re excited,” Chairman John Berrey told the paper. “We’re hopeful that the economy’s on the upswing. We want to be part of it.”
Berrey said the facility needs additional rooms to meet demand.
