Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick (D) expects to wrap up Class III gaming compact negotiations with the Mashpee Wampanoag
Tribe next week, The Cape Cod Times reports.
The compact will be presented to the state Legislature for approval.
It's the last major hurdle for the tribe at the state level.
"We're making progress," Patrick told the paper.
If approved in the state, the compact will be sent to the Bureau of Indian Affairs for review.
