The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of
New York is about a third of the way through a $74 million casino expansion.
The tribe is relocating the Mohawk Bingo Palace to the
site of the Akwesasne Mohawk
Casino.
The expansion includes an additional 39,000 square-feet for the gaming floor, a seven-floor, 150-room hotel, a new entertainment lounge and a renovated buffet area.
"There's a lot of excitement. We have so many repeat customers and they view this as part of their own and they enjoy it and they like seeing some of the changes and making it a nicer property for them," general manager Patrick Bassney told YNN.
The hotel is expected to open in March 2013, with the remainder of the work completed in April 2013.
