Nearly 1,000 people attended a city council meeting in Taunton, Massachusetts, to learn more about the casino proposed by the Mashpee Wampanoag
Tribe.
The tribe and its developers answered detailed questions about the $500 million casino, according to news reports. The tribe address concerns about traffic, employment, law enforcement and other issues.
The tribe has already entered into Class III negotiations with Gov. Deval Patrick (D).
The parties face a July 31 deadline to reach a deal.
