The Kialegee
Tribal Town could open its casino by the end the month, the Associated Press reported, although no confirmation has come from the tribe or its attorneys.
The website for the Red Clay Casino only says "COMING SOON."
But temporary buildings have been moved onto the site in recent weeks.
The casino is controversial because it's located on an Indian allotment that's owned by two members of Muscogee Nation.
On the website, the Kialegee Tribal Town says the land is within the former Creek Reservation, meaning it would be eligible for gaming under an exception in Section 20 of the Indian
Gaming Regulatory Act.
Other tribes in Oklahoma, most notably the Chickasaw Nation, have opened gaming facilities on former reservation land.
