The Mashpee
Wampanoag Tribe formally asked the city of Taunton, Massachusetts, to schedule a vote on a casino.
H.3702,
the state's gaming law, requires a vote within 60 to 90 days. That would put the election sometime between May 11 and June 10.
The tribe wants to build a casino 53 acres in Taunton. The tribe is updating its land-into-trust application with the new site.
