The California Department of
Alcoholic Beverage Control scheduled a three-day hearing on a liquor license at
the casino owned by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash
Indians.
The hearing begins May 22. It will last three consecutive days in order to consider protests against the license, a spokesperson for the ABC told The Solvang Valley News.
The tribe is seeking to expand the sale of liquor at the Chumash Casino Hotel and
Resort. Alcohol, however, won't be allowed on the gaming floor.
Local residents are against the license.
