The Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians is urging California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) to reject an off-reservation casino for the Enterprise Rancheria.
The tribe says its existing gaming facility will be hurt by the new development. A letter posted by The Marysville Appeal-Democrat claims a 40 to 60 percent drop in gaming revenues.
Under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, Brown has veto authority over the casino.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs approved the project last September.
