The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut saw a big increase in profits at its gaming facilities.
For the last quarter of 2011, the tribe's net income was $24 million. That represented an increase of 85.6 percent over the last quarter of 2010.
"Obviously, we feel very good about the business trends we're seeing," Mitchell Etess, the CEO of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, told The New London Day.
The tribe operates the Mohegan Sun on its reservation and Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Pennsylvania.
