The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of
New York ordered the closure of an "unauthorized gaming establishment" on the
reservation last month but the facility remains open.
The tribe said the Three Feathers Casino was not licensed by the gaming commission. But the group that runs the facility says it's not under tribal jurisdiction.
“We’re open for business and we will be open and remaining open,” Sakoietah Gray, a representative of the Turtle Clan on the Men’s Traditional Council, told The Cornwall Standard Freeholder.
Sakoietah said his group has its own gaming commission that regulates Three Feathers.
