The Ho-Chunk Nation will present its plans for an off-reservation casino in Beloit, Wisconsin, next week.
The tribe has been negotiating an agreement with the city. The project will be discussed at a public meeting on Tuesday.
“We felt comfortable enough to invite the Ho-Chunk to make a report on the status of their project,” City Manager Larry Arft told The Rockford Register Star. “This is really their first opportunity to present the project to the City Council and greater Beloit community.”
The city council will dedicate its January 17 meeting to the casino plan, Arft said.
