Jemez Pueblo resubmits off-reservation casino application
Tuesday, February 21, 2012
Jemez Pueblo
in New Mexico has resubmitted its off-reservation casino application.
The
Bureau of Indian Affairs
rejected the casino last year, citing jurisdictional concerns. The BIA also said the gaming site might be too far from the reservation to benefit the tribe.
The tribe has amended an intergovernmental agreement with Doña Ana County to address the concerns about its jurisdiction at the casino.
