Law enforcement ready for Catawba Nation gaming facility

State and local law enforcement in South Carolina are preparing for an anticipated Catawba Nation.

The tribe plans to open some sort of gaming facility on the reservation by February 23, the same day of a court hearing in its lawsuit against the state. Details are scarce but law enforcement authorities say they will take action if necessary.

The tribe says it's entitled to the same type of gaming allowed in the state. The state has outlawed video poker but has authorized casino boats.
