People in western Massachusetts want to see a casino in Palmer, according to the results of a new poll.
The Northeast Group owns land that the Mohegan Tribe of
Connecticut plans to use for a casino. The poll found that Palmer beat out Springfield -- where Penn
National wants to build -- for a western Massachusetts gaming site.
Palmer and Springfield aren't the only site in consideration, though. Hard Rock International,
which is owned by the Seminole
Tribe of Florida, is proposing a casino in Holyoke.
All three entities will be competing for a license if H.3702 becomes law.
The bill authorizes three casinos, including one on western Massachusetts.
