Navajo Nation ready to open new gaming facility in January
The Navajo Nation will open its third gaming facility on January 16, 2012. The Northern Edge Navajo Casino is located on Upper Fruitland, New Mexico. The tribe spent $60 million on the 86,000-square-foot facility that features 750 slot machines, six poker tables, 10 table games, restaurant and bar, a food court and gift shop. "We're going to provide a good product, a very entertaining product, as well as a good restaurant product," Bob Winter, the CEO of the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise, told The Farmington Daily Times "We're all looking forward to the opening." Construction generated 1,000 temporary jobs. The casino is expected to create between 375 and 390 full-time jobs, Winter said. Get the Story:
