Arizona tribes report slight increase in gaming revenues

Tribes in Arizona took in $1.9 billion at their casinos in fiscal year 2011, according to the Arizona Department of Gaming.

That's an increase of 1 percent from fiscal year 2011. It's the first time since 2008 that revenues have gone up.

“I think that’s an indication, maybe, of a slow economic recovery that is beginning to take hold,’’ gaming director Mark Brnovich told Capitol Media Services.

However, revenues have yet to return to pre-recession levels.
