Passamaquoddy Tribe asks state voters again to approve casino

The Passamaquoddy Tribe at Indian Township is once again asking voters in Maine to approve a gaming facility.

The tribe's prior efforts have failed even as voters approved non-Indian casinos. This time around, the tribe and a non-Indian casino are on the same ballot question.

If approved, Question 2 will authorize slot machines at a racetrack facility in Washington County for the tribe. It also authorizes a non-Indian facility in the city of Biddeford.

The tribe and the developers of the Biddeford facility are pushing the Putting Maine To Work campaign.
