Gun Lake Tribe donates casino funds for local law enforcement

The Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Potawatomi Indians of Michigan, also known as the Gun Lake Tribe, donated $12,000 to the Allegan County Sheriff's Department.

The money was used to buy Medo, a K-9 unit dog. The sheriff's department demonstrated the dog's abilities at the Gun Lake Casino yesterday.

"Thanks to our outstanding staff of 900 team members and the popularity of our first-class entertainment facility, we are excited to help the community with the addition of Medo," said Chairman D.K. Sprague said in a press release. "This donation maintains our commitment to public safety, and our solid partnership with the Allegan County Sheriff's Department."
