Winnebago Tribe eager to put people back to work at its casino

The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska is eager to put 350 people back to work at its casino in Iowa.

The WinnaVegas Casino closed on June 10 due to flooding along the Missouri River. By renting duck boats to transport people back and forth to the isolated facility, the tribe hopes to get back on track soon.

"I believe that the experts that have been involved in the conversations with the Winnebego Tribe as well as the Winnebego Tribe have all worked together in a good faith effort to do the best possible thing for everyone involved," Gary Brown, the emergency manager for Woodbury County in Iowa, told KTIV in response to the plan.

The county had to shut down the only road to the casino, which has remained dry and undamaged despite massive flooding.
