Bill to legalize casinos in Massachusetts is back on the table

A bill to legalize casinos in Massachusetts is back on the table, The Boston Herald reports.

The proposed bill would authorize three resorts in different parts of the state. The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut plans to bid on a license in western Massachusetts.

The bill also would authorize slot machines at racetracks. At least one facility would be open to bidding.

The Herald said the owner of one racetrack is in "very preliminary" talks to sell the facility to a tribe.
