Pojoaque Pueblo denies allegations of wrongdoing at casino

The leader of Pojoaque Pueblo in New Mexico said accusations of wrongdoing at the tribe's casino are coming from "a disgruntled employee."

Gov. George Rivera said the tribe fired The Fine Point Group in March. The company was brought in to turn around the Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino in January.

“The former management did not fit into our goals and we were forced to terminate our business relationship,” River said in a press release, The Santa Fe New Mexican reported.

When asked about alleged unethical practices at the casino, Rivera told The Albuquerque Journal “absolutely not.” He accused FPG of “trying to drum up press to get us going back and forth."

The tribe has since hired Full House Resorts to run the casino for three years. “We now await approval of the contracts by the National Indian Gaming Commission,” Rivera said, the New Mexican reported.
