Mississippi Choctaws donate $50K, police cars to casino town

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians donated $50,000, two police cars and five handguns to the town of Sandersville, where the tribe's new casino is located.

The town asked the tribe for assistance in dealing with the Bok Homa Casino, which opened in December 2010. Miko Beasley Denson said the tribe was more than wiling to help.

"Mayor, I understand the complications facing government sometimes is that when there's not enough income to go around, you look for a certain amount of support somewhere else," Denson said at a ceremony in town hall, The Hattiesburg American reported. "And you can look to us today for that amount."

The town will use the money for its police department and its fire department.
