The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan is building its own water and wastewater treatment facility that will serve one its casinos.
Construction began in July. The plant is expected to open in late 2012.
The facility will serve the Saganing Eagles Landing Casino, which currently receives about 11,000 gallons of water a day by truck, The The Arenac Independent reported.
By running its own system, the tribe will be able to save about $10 million a year, a spokesperson said.
