National Indian Gaming Association names executive director
Friday, November 18, 2011
The National Indian Gaming Association has a new executive director.
Jason Giles, a member of the Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma, was promoted to the position this week, Chairman Ernie Stevens Jr. announced at a Senate Indian Affairs Committee yesterday. He previously served as deputy executive director and general counsel of the organization.
Giles succeeds Mark Van Norman, a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of South Dakota who held the position for more than a decade. Van Norman remains on staff as a senior adviser but his last day as a full-time employee of NIGA will be December 31, Stevens said.
"He's been of great service to the National Indian Gaming Association," Stevens said of Van Norman.
