The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians will discuss plans for an off-reservation casino in Joshua Tree, California.
In January 2008, the tribe announced plans for a casino and RV park on its reservation. But that project has stalled and the tribe is interested in a new site.
"Hopefully we will be able to respond to the community's questions at that time,"Steve Gralla, the tribe's chief financial officer, told The Hi-Desert Star of a meeting on October 15 with the Joshua Tree Community Association.
The tribe operates the Spotlight 29 Casino, which
opened in 1995.
