Gaming is a booming business for the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.
The tribe is expanding three of its gaming facilities. Construction at the Cherokee Casino in Fort Gibson has already started, bringing it to 27,500 square-feet, or nearly four times the size of the original building.
"In less than 10 years and one expansion project, it became apparent that our guests needed a larger casino with more amenities," David Stewart, CEO of Cherokee Nation Businesses, recently told the tribal council, The Muskogee Phoenix reported.
The tribe expects to start work soon on a bigger casino in Ramona, which just opened last year. The casino in Tahlequah will also expand.
