"As a former kennel owner at Dairyland Greyhound Park, I am interested in the casino approval. I would like to correct Mr. Werwie on his rhetoric. He said the governor would consider three factors regarding the proposal:
1. The casino’s regional impact.
Well, 3,000 new jobs, not counting the construction workers. Millions of dollars to the state and Kenosha. The added tourism, sales and income taxes.
2. The amount of local consensus.
The local consensus has voted and approved the casino.
3. The consensus among the other tribes.
Now we come to the real reason for his hedging on the approval. While running for governor, Milwaukee County Executive Walker stipulated that he was opposed to the Menominee Casino.
