The Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians is due in court on Wednesday over a gaming dispute with the city of Duluth, Minnesota.
In 1994, the tribe agreed to share 19 percent of gross revenues from the Fond-du-Luth Casino with the city.
The tribe has shared over $80 million but stopped payments in 2009, saying the deal was illegal.
The National Indian Gaming
Commission agreed and issued a notice of violation to the tribe in July.
The tribe is seeking to avoid back payments and to invalidate future payments.
