Neighbors of the Sycuan Band of the
Kumeyaay Nation will no longer fight the tribe's liquor license.
The state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control approved an interim license
for the Sycuan Casino back in 2009. Residents filed more than 300 protests, citing concerns about traffic and safety.
But after realizing they had little chance of success, the residents withdrew their opposition. The state canceled a hearing that was scheduled for today.
