A new gaming facility opened just six miles from the casino owned by the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New
York.
The Three Feathers Casino offers about 500 video lottery terminals. It's not licensed by the tribal government but that doesn't seem to have deterred some gamblers.
"As the public becomes more confident with this extra venue, we've seen word of mouth and satisfied gaming players liked what they saw and would be back," Chaz Kader, a spokesperson for the Men's Council of the People of the Way of the Long House, told the Associated Press.
The tribe has condemned the facility.
