The Jackson Rancheria of California has laid off 150 workers at its casino.
The tribe reduced the workforce at Jackson Rancheria Casino and
Hotel by a little over 10 percent, The Sacramento Bee reported.
That leaves the facility with 1,250 employees.
The tribe recently spent $100 million to remodel the casino. A study
determined "there were just too many employees for our size operation," spokesperson Doug Elmets told the paper. "The number of employees was just too high, in good times or bad."
The tribe laid off 115 people and eliminated another 100 jobs through attrition back in late 2009, the Bee reported.
