A majority of North Carolina voters support live card dealers at the casino owned by the Eastern Band of Cherokee
Indians, according to a new poll.
When asked "Would you support the state of North Carolina allowing the Cherokees to offer live dealer games like blackjack, poker, roulette and other games?” 64 percent said they support the idea.
Only 26 percent said they were opposed to it.
“This shows very strong voter support for allowing the Cherokee Nation to negotiate a new compact with North Carolina to allow Las Vegas style gambling,” Civitas Institute President Francis De Luca said in a press release.
The tribe has been seeking to amend its Class III gaming compact to allow live dealers.
