A wealthy gambler has settled a dispute over $1.2 million owed to the Mohegan Tribe of
Connecticut.
Jerome Powers, a Florida millionaire, lost the money while gambling at Mohegan Sun. He signed an
agreement allowing the tribe to pursue debt collection in tribal court "and
courts of the state of Connecticut," The New London Day reported back in March.
Powers was fighting the tribe's collection efforts in state court but entered settlement talks. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
