The board of supervisors in Santa Barbara County,
California, might reconsider its position on the liquor license at the casino owned by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash
Indians.
The board voted 3-2 in June 2010 to oppose the tribe's request to transfer a license to the the Chumash Casino Hotel and
Resort.
The California Department of Alcoholic
Beverage Control has issued an interim license and the tribe has agreed to some changes at the request of the county sheriff.
As a result, the board might withdraw its opposition, supervisor Doreen Farr told The Santa Maria Times. The issue is on the agenda for the county's meeting next Tuesday.
