The Seminole Tribe of Florida is seeking approval to expand the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek.
The tribe plans to add a retail center and parking garage to the facility. Since these developments will occur on land that is not trust, the city of Coconut Creek needs to approve them.
"We think this gives an opportunity for the city of Coconut Creek to really go to the next level," general manager Steve Bonner told the city commission, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported. "We've thought a lot about how this fits in…and we think we've put together something that you and we can be proud of."
The city commission will vote on five of the tribe's requests at upcoming meetings.
