The Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma says its first year in the commercial racing industry has been a success.
Global Gaming RP, a tribal subsidiary, took over Remington Park in Oklahoma City on January 2, 2010. The tribe quickly made upgrades at the 22-year-old facility, which saw a record attendance of 1.75 million last year.
"It was better than we expected — we were exceedingly pleased with the first year," CEO John Elliott told The Ada Evening News.
The tribe offers horse races and electronic gaming machines at the facility, which is not in trust.
