Nottawaseppi Huron Band shares $4.86M in gaming revenues

The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians shared $4.86 million in gaming revenues with local governments in Michigan.

The payment covers a full year of operations at the FireKeepers Casino. The check was larger than expected.

"The casino's received a great welcome in this community and the region," Chairman Homer Mandoka said at a meeting of the FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board, The Battle Creek Enquirer reported. "This is a very exciting time for the tribe and especially for our tribal elders."

The LRSB will determine how to distribute the money.
