City leaders push lawsuit on Seneca Nation off-reservation casino

Two council members in Buffalo, New York, say the Seneca Nation isn't living up to its end of an off-reservation casino agreement.

The tribe opened a temporary Buffalo Creek Casino in July 2007. Plans for a permanent facility have been held back due to economic concerns and some city leaders say it's time to consider a lawsuit.

"They made promises they didn’t keep," council member Michael P. Kearns told The Buffalo News.

The tribe already faced litigation over the legality of gaming at the site.
