Mashantucket Tribe spent over $34M on Pennsylvania casino bid

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut spent over $34 million on a failed casino in Pennsylvania, The New London Day reports.

The Foxwoods Casino Philadelphia was a partnership between the tribe and other developers. But after numerous delays, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board revoked the license for the project in December 2010.

The partners are seeking to revive the project -- without the tribe's involvement. The tribe has agreed to sever its relationship in exchange for $6 million in charitable donations to the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center.
