Plans for an off-reservation casino with the Sokaogon Chippewa
Community of Wisconsin appear to be dead.
In July, The Sheboygan Press reported of discussions between the tribe and officials in Sheboygan. But there hasn't been much movement since then.
"Really there's been very little discussion of late, and I think the likelihood of it getting legs and going anywhere at this time is slim to none,"
Sheboygan County Administrator Adam Payne told the paper.
The plan would have involved the tribe taking over a site from Kohler Co. The site is near the Blue Harbor Resort and
Convention Center.
Sheboygan is about 165 miles from the reservation.
