Pokagon Band sees drop in slot machine revenue for first time

For the first time in three years, slot machine revenues have declined at the casino owned by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians in Michigan.

In the last fiscal year, the tribe took in $286,357,550 on slot machines at the Four Winds Casino, WSBT-TV reported. That's $25 million lower than the prior year and $23 million lower than the tribe's first year of operation.

David Hicks, the audit manager for tribal casinos at the Michigan Gaming Control Board, said the Pokagon casino is facing competition from a new facility opened by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians.
