Red Lake Nation partners with First Nations for Manitoba casino

The Red Lake Nation of Minnesota is helping the First Nations of Manitoba with a new casino.

The Red Lake Gaming Enterprises will receive a management and developmental fee during the construction of the $41 million Spirit Sands Casino. Red Lake will manage the facility once it's up and running.

"It is unique," Chairman Floyd Jourdain Jr. said of the arrangement, The Winnipeg Free Press reported. "We can't think of anything like it."

All 64 First Nations in Manitoba will share revenues from the casino.
